The Clusters in Lower Austria aim at joint pre-competitive research as a basis for product and service innovations, joint improvement of organisational and production processes as well as building-up and anchoring know-how in the region. Managing four regional cluster initiatives in key sectors and technologies as well as implementing the Energy Mobility Innovation Initiative, ecoplus connects businesses and sciences and stimulates innovation and qualification in collaboration. The Cluster team works continuously to identify new trends and challenges early on, and to process them for Lower Austrian companies, in particular SMEs. In doing so, the Cluster helps to bolster expertise among businesses and improve productivity. This process also paves the way for access onto new markets and business fields. As a new high-tech offering that cooperates optimally with the established clusters, platforms were launched in 2021 on the cross-cutting topics of bioeconomy and health technology. These platforms are aimed at all companies in Lower Austria - cluster membership is not required. In this way, additional know-how is generated on selected topics across all industries. The goal is to provide impulses and suggestions outside of one's own company and to avoid duplication. ecoplus implements the Lower Austrian program „Innovation Ecosystem“ consisting of Clusters, Platforms and Technopols.
